500 Followers & a Q & A

Every single milestone I hit I find myself in shock. I started creating my little corner of the internet because of my love for books, hoping to share my heart with all of you. I never expected for my words to ever reach so many people and I can’t believe the growth that has come from the passion that lives inside me. 

Without all the love that has poured out from this community I truly would be just a speck of dust floating on the wind. In many ways I still am, but from all your support I feel just the tiniest bit bigger.

Last milestone I had mentioned I wanted to create a Q & A so that I could answer any questions you all may have for me. I am now happy to say it is here!

What’s  your Hogwarts and Ilvermorny house?

According to the buzz feed sorting hat quiz I belong in Ravenclaw! However my percentages are:  32% Ravenclaw, 30% Hufflepuff, 20% Gryffindor, and 18% Slytherin! Missed Hufflepuff by just a hair! 

I am also apparently part of the Thunderbird house. I love that it represents the soul that truly is what I’m all about!

 Favourite genre?

Fantasy is what brought me into the reading world and it will be what I love most till death takes me out of the reading world. 

 A hyped book you didn’t like?

There really hasn’t been any overly hyped books that I didn’t like. The ones I know I probably wouldn’t like I don’t read. It’s saved me from the fandom hate…..

Reading all your lovely posts! The blogging community is such a hardworking community and reading everyone’s posts make me so happy!

What is your favourite food?

Quesadillas! I have some almost every night and they always taste delicious to me!

Your favourite anime?

Angel Beats is so beautiful and hilarious yet at other times heartbreaking! Plus the intro music is just stunning!

What are you most afraid of?

Fire is beautiful to look at, but truly I am afraid of burning myself accidentally from my clumsiness. I am also irrationally afraid of knifes, I can hold one and I can use them, but if someone else is using one I am always afraid that they will accidentally stab me or me accidentally stabbing them from tripping or something. Which actually almost happened, my mom was holding a knife tripped with it in her hand and almost stabbed me where I was sitting in my chair… thank God for that chair! Mostly I’m afraid of accidentally hurting myself or others, but fire and knifes are the worst.

How do you organise your bookshelves?

By author and genre mostly and somewhat series vs. standalones. I’m running out of shelf space so my shelves as kinda a mess right now. 

 How do you find time to read?

Well I do my best to forget about all the things I am supposed to be doing, hide, and read some glorious books! Also, this month I gave up YouTube so that helps immensely.

What got you into reading?

I call Twilight my gateway drug and my 5th grade teacher Ms. Ohonion my dealer. This book was the first real book that I ever read. It began something that will be a part of my life forever. 

Why did you decide to do a blog dedicated to your love of reading? Did you find it hard?

Because books are something I love so much I never find book blogging tedious or hard. I give myself to every post I make and I love every second of it. The blogging community itself and the response I get makes any issue I would ever have completely invalid. 

If you chose one book to take to a vacation with you, which one would you choose?

Currently, I would take my signed copy of And I Darken! I need to read it and a vacation would be a lovely way to got read it.

There is something about me and cabins with birds… anyway I am a daughter of Zeus! The air is my domain. Your getting all my cabins in this post!

Is there a language you would love to learn? 

All the languages! Seriously… all of them, but if I had to choose one it would be: 

French is such a beautiful language, it would be a amazing to be able to speak it. 

What is your favourite fandom?

Uhh… you can’t make me choose on this one… nope.. not happening.

If you could only choose one book to read for the rest of your life, what would it be? 

It would have to be a random novel that the universe grants to me… to choose would be agonizing.. I’d rather God decide he knows what’s best for me (p.s. The Bible doesn’t count to me, Scripture doesn’t feel much like reading a book)

Have you written a story you would like to publish one day?

I’m always trying to write as much as I can and even though I have only one book finished there are many poems and little stories I would love to see published. Plus I’m on my way to writing many more books!

Why did you start your blog? 

My sole reason for starting this blog was my undying love for books. I always had so much to say about what I read and no place to say them and so The Book Raven was born! (Special thanks to my sister who pushed me towards this path) 

Who is your favorite author?

Julie Kagawa is not only my favorite author, but she is my idol. I don’t know how she writes so prolifically and so well, but I aspire to write at her level!

what’s the name of the book that everybody seems to love but you? 

I really enjoyed Divergent, but I didn’t love it. It is a fun read though. 

what’s the book that nobody seems to love, but you?

I adore this book! Most people either love it or hate it, but mostly people dislike it. Something about this book makes me love it and I am not ashamed!

What’s your favourite colour? 

Tardis blue! This color is so beautiful and I wish I saw it as an official color!

Follow up: Do you think you read books based on your favourite colour being the on the cover?

I wish there were books with tardis blue on the cover! I don’t ever see it, but I’d definitely buy one with it!
