WordPress is my favorite place to share my thoughts above all other thoughts platforms. For 5 amazing months WordPress has allowed me to share my voice and create fun content with relative ease and the smallest of glitches.

However, I was just almost done writing a long awaited tag post when, my app froze and glitched out, deleting the content completely. To which I precided to feel these sets of emotions:

Tried to bargain for a non-existent way of fixing the problem:

Depression:

Acceptance:

I was and still am sitting on my IKEA chair thinking about what to do. Do I redo the post? Do I do a different one? What should I do next?

An idea struck!

Then I decided it might be interesting to write this little post, because I wasn’t happy about losing 40 minute of work to do it over again without sharing the sad experience with you all!

So, I ask of you… has anything like this ever happened using WordPress? Have you ever lost any content or had any issues with the WordPress app? I need to feel some solidarity from this emotional rollercoaster. It was just a whole lot of panicked sadness.

When you take so much time to work on something just to have it disappear feels awful. As much as I love WordPress this has been such a sad experience. I may be sad, but I will write and post the disappeared post tomorrow. There is a tag to look forward to! I hope you all will enjoy it!

-Till next time!

  1. That’s terrible, Ti!! One thing that I noticed using the WordPress app is that it saves the draft you create on one device and when you log in from another device, it isn’t visible. Personally, I hate this issue because, as a person, I use a lot of devices on the go to produce my blogposts and having your drafts not saved up for different devices is just absolutely crappy. (Excuse my language) That’s probably the only thing you can call a ‘glitch’ that I have experienced when using WordPress. 🙈

  2. I haven’t had any problems with WordPress and I debated with myself about posting it here; I don’t want to jinx it!😂

But WordPress did change its New Post style recently and the very first day, there were some problems. They fixed it soon, though! I’m sorry you lost your content. I’m sure it would’ve been amazing, as usual!😊

  3. I’m so sorry this happened to you too, Tiana. I deleted the app from my phone when it happened because of the frustration 😂 from that day I keep pressing save every few minutes, just in case.

  4. I spend so long going back over posts and editing them that I just don’t trust WordPress to keep them saved so I always write mine in Microsoft Word and then paste them across. I don’t really like the format of writing posts on WordPress as well so this way just works better for me!

  5. Agh, this sounds horrible! I haven’t had this happen to me (not that I can think of…) but this happens a lot when I’m making graphics in PicMonkey. And I just spent like the last thirty minutes doing it. *inhales* *never exhales*

  6. Omg I almost wrote a post about this too, because the app glitches SO constantly! My notifications arrive on my lock screen, but when I go to the actual app, they aren’t there because the thing never updates. This is probably because it always says it’s offline, even though I have wifi/service?? I don’t know, but they need to give it a major update it soon! 😉

          1. Me either. I wonder if I’m having problems because I just use the website and haven’t downloaded it onto my computer. I have a mac, and doing that practically requires a degree in computer science.

  7. This hasn’t happened to me on WordPress, but another blogging site I was using it used to happen a bit and the frustration is incredible… so I feel you’re pain. I hope it doesn’t happen too many times, or you know never again! 🙂
