This November I am participating in Nanowrimo, but so far I have been a bit lacking and have only written 1,094 words. Which means I need to do something major to catch up and maybe, even get ahead.

So this weekend I am doing a two day marathon where I do at least 5 hours of writing on both days. The hope behind this is not only to catch up, but to see what life would be like for me if I did end up becoming a career novelist one day and this would be the norm!

My plan for Saturday and Sunday:

Spend 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. writing

1 hour break

Spend 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. writing

Then if I still feel like writing to continue on.

My goal amount of words for this challenge is 10,000 total. Which would put me at 11,000 words which would put me at two days ahead of the game and allow me to have plenty of reading time afterwards and reduce my daily word count goal thereafter.

I will let you all know how this went for me after, but for now I’m just excited to get started!

Thanks for reading! Are you participating in Nanowrimo this year? Let me know down in the comments!

-Till next time!

  1. I tried to prepare for Nano this year so I actually did the planning thing in October. Now I’m a little ahead, but I’ll fall behind again if I settle in to the snail’s pace of writing I’ve fallen into. Fingers crossed I finish my goal of writing AND revising my book in one month as my Nano challenge this year.

    1. Sometimes it’s so hard for me to actually write my book, because I get this feeling in my stomach of pure fear. I wish it was something I could get over because it makes it so hard for me to write my novels normally.

  2. Wow this sounds cool! I currently have 3,400 words (tears). I got really behind last week and I was like, okay, saturday – but then I had an all day conference. And so I was like, sunday! But then I had to catch up on homework that I hadn’t done because of the conference and practicing my speech for the conference! But hey, progress, right? I started the weekend with less than 1,000 and emerged with more than three times that. Even if I don’t win this year, I will have written something.
