Most Anticipated YA Releases: April 2018

I haven’t done one of these in a while.. a common theme amounted my most recent posts. I’m getting back into a grove now and I’m so excited about it!

Without further ado here are my most Anticipated ya releases for the month of April!

April 3rd

Dread Nation by Justina Ireland

Jane McKeene was born two days before the dead began to walk the battlefields of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania—derailing the War Between the States and changing the nation forever.

In this new America, safety for all depends on the work of a few, and laws like the Native and Negro Education Act require certain children attend combat schools to learn to put down the dead.

But there are also opportunities—and Jane is studying to become an Attendant, trained in both weaponry and etiquette to protect the well-to-do. It’s a chance for a better life for Negro girls like Jane. After all, not even being the daughter of a wealthy white Southern woman could save her from society’s expectations.

But that’s not a life Jane wants. Almost finished with her education at Miss Preston’s School of Combat in Baltimore, Jane is set on returning to her Kentucky home and doesn’t pay much mind to the politics of the eastern cities, with their talk of returning America to the glory of its days before the dead rose.

But when families around Baltimore County begin to go missing, Jane is caught in the middle of a conspiracy, one that finds her in a desperate fight for her life against some powerful enemies.

And the restless dead, it would seem, are the least of her problems.

A zombie novel mixed with history and so many good things! I’m dying to read this book (pun intended).

Hiding by Henry Turner

I’ve been loving thrillers lately and this one sounds creepy and unsettling enough to capture my attention.

The Window by Amelia Brunskill

Anna is everything her identical twin is not. Outgoing and athletic, she is the opposite of quiet introvert Jess. The same on the outside, yet so completely different inside–it’s hard to believe the girls are sisters, let alone twins. But they are. And they tell each other everything.

Or so Jess thought.

After Anna falls to her death while sneaking out her bedroom window, Jess’s life begins to unravel. Everyone says it was an accident, but to Jess, that doesn’t add up. Where was Anna going? Who was she meeting? And how long had Anna been lying to her?

Jess is compelled to learn everything she can about the sister she thought she knew. At first it’s a way to stay busy and find closure . . . but Jess soon discovers that her twin kept a lot of secrets. And as she digs deeper, she learns that the answers she’s looking for may be truths that no one wants her to uncover.

Because Anna wasn’t the only one with secrets.

I’m going to be honest this book is here because of its creepalicious cover and the fact that it’s about twins. All I know is it looks like just the right book for me to read!

Zombie Abbey by Lauren Baratz-Logsted

1920, England

None of them ever expected to work together for any reason.

But none of them had ever seen anything like this.

This seems quirky, funny, and full of zombie fun! I don’t know I just think this would be a good time kind of read.

April 10th

The mafia is an enigma that intrigues the masses, so it isn’t a surprise to see this novel on my list. I’m so excited to see where this story goes!

This seems like an interesting western story that would be an adventurer is read I would really enjoy!

When I looked at this synopsis and realized this was a book about Lizzie Borden I knew I needed to read it! I’m so excited for this books release!!!!

Relative Strangers by Paula Garner

This book sounds amazing! I love stories centered around foster care and identity and this one sounds like a fun read! Hopefully I can get a copy of this when it comes out!

I want!!! Another mouthwatering fantasy for me to read. I will forever love this genre and with each new addition to it I only become happier.

April 17th

Cute, romantic, and sweet with a mix of danger this book is right up my alley. I’m so ready for its release!

April 24th

Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian

Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli

The Fandom by Anna Day
