Top 5: Top Picks For Me From Netflix

Recently, one of my favorite past times is watching Netflix. I love seeing what it’ll recommend me and if it would really be a movie or show I’ll enjoy. So I thought that I’d like to share the top 5 recommendations Netflix made for me:

5. A Series of Unfortunate Events

‘This series follows the tragic tale of three orphans — Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire — who are investigating their parents’ mysterious death. The siblings are saddled with an evil guardian named Count Olaf (portrayed by Emmy-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris), who will do whatever it takes to get his hands on the Baudelaires’ inheritance. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling devious plans and disguises.’

It’s really not a surprise that this show is being recommended to me. This book series is one I had started when I was younger and greatly enjoyed. It’s slightly dark and weird, but so much fun. It’s a matter of time before I watch the show.

4. Crimson Peak

‘After marrying the charming and seductive Sir Thomas Sharpe, young Edith (Mia Wasikowska) finds herself swept away to his remote gothic mansion in the English hills. Also living there is Lady Lucille, Thomas’ alluring sister and protector of her family’s dark secrets. Able to communicate with the dead, Edith tries to decipher the mystery behind the ghostly visions that haunt her new home. As she comes closer to the truth, Edith may learn that true monsters are made of flesh and blood.’

I think that I keep thinking I’ve watched this movie before and then skipping out on it, but I actually am not sure I have. Whatever the case, I’ve definitely wanted to and will watch this movie very soon.

3. Moxie

‘Inspired by her mum’s rebellious past and a confident new friend, a shy teenager publishes an anonymous zine calling out sexism at her school.’

When the book Moxie came out I always had it in my mind I really wanted to read it, but I never got my hands on it, but it’s really no surprise that the movie is being recommended to me.

2. I Am Not Ok With This

‘A teenager navigates the complexities of high school, family and her sexuality while dealing with new superpowers; based on Charles Forsman’s graphic novel.’

Why wouldn’t I watch this? It sounds amazing!

1. Gunpowder Milkshake

‘To protect an 8-year-old girl, a dangerous assassin reunites with her mother and her lethal associates to take down a ruthless crime syndicate and its army of henchmen.’

I cannot say how strong the urge to watch this movie has been. It sounds so intriguing. God I hope I love it. I need to watch this soon!

Top 5: Netflix Anime I want to Watch

I have gotten into a lot of anime lately! Many that I will talk about on here soon enough. However, there’s many I want to check out and I wanted to share some of the ones on Netflix that have caught my eye.

Beaststars

“Based on writer and illustrator Paru Itagaki’s award-winning manga, Beastars follows Legoshi, a shy, timid and – contrary to his appearance – sheepish gray wolf. A member of the drama club at Cherryton High School, Legoshi has spent much of his life playing the weakling, doing everything he can to avoid conflict. While quite a few animals chastise him for downplaying his more feral instincts and his friendly relations with herbivores, Legoshi displays a solemn maturity, emphasized by Chikahiro Kobayashi’s winning voice performance.”

This sounds so adorable. It’s the first time I read about what it’s about and I didn’t realize how cute it sounded and I want to check it out so bad.

Castlevania

“Inspired by the popular video game series, this anime series is a dark medieval fantasy. It follows the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, Trevor Belmont, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hands of Vlad Dracula Tepes. As Dracula and his legion of vampires prepare to rid the world of humanity’s stain, Belmont is no longer alone, and he and his misfit comrades race to find a way to save mankind from the grief-maddened Dracula.”

I’ve never heard a bad thing about this anime. It sounds epic. I have a feeling I’ll be obsessed once I start watching.

Trese

“In Manila, where dark supernatural forces pervade the criminal underworld, it’s up to Alexandra Trese to keep the peace — but there’s a storm brewing.”

This one I want to watch purely because I feel pulled to. It just looks good to me.

The Promised Neverland

“Surrounded by a forest and a gated entrance, the Grace Field House is inhabited by orphans happily living together as one big family, looked after by their “Mama,” Isabella. Although they are required to take tests daily, the children are free to spend their time as they see fit, usually playing outside, as long as they do not venture too far from the orphanage—a rule they are expected to follow no matter what. However, all good times must come to an end, as every few months, a child is adopted and sent to live with their new family, never to be heard from again.”

God this anime sounds creepy and amazing I love it!

Forest of Piano

“Young Kai Ichinose lives in the red light district but sneaks away at night to play a piano in the forest. Shuhei Amamiya is the son of a professional pianist who transfers to Kai’s elementary school, where he is bullied by classmates. When Shuhei is dared to play the mysterious piano in the forest he meets Kai, who is seemingly the only person who is capable of getting sound out of the thought-to-be-broken instrument. Kai’s ability earns him the respect of Shuhei and his music teacher — a former master pianist — who try to convince Kai to take piano lessons, which he resists.”

I adore the piano and a beautiful anime with some beautiful music and emotional feeling sounds amazing.

5 Favorite Games I’ve played

All my life one of my favorite pass-times has been to play games. I love them. However, my most fond memories of playing have come from the following five. They’ve all made my life more fun.

5. Pokémon Silver

I remember playing Pokémon for hours. I finished more then one version of a game more then once. I remember going through this whole game twice. I loved it. I’d come home from school and couldn’t wait to turn on my DS and play this game.

2. Town of Salem

I currently play this game all the time. I’ve played hundreds of games. It’s so good. I’ve enjoyed this game for hours. It’s so versatile and each game is unique. I love it.

3. Dragon Quest: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

I found this game again while explaining to someone amazing that I had played this game so stupidly because I kept fighting the same slime over and over in the same area for so long before I realized I could move on. I had forgotten the name of this game, but I was determined to find it after talking with him and I did. I loved this. It’s such a great game. I’d play it again if I could in a heartbeat.

Fortnite

This was a game I used to cringe at before I started playing it. It’s so much fun. Playing with my friends on it is so much fun. I play on my phone and I’ve somehow managed to get semi-decent with it and I’m so proud.

Minecraft

Though I never got to play it myself much till recently, I’ve loved Minecraft for a long time. I’ve watched so many Minecraft YouTubers. Yet, playing it now with friends has been a very special kind of fun.

What is one of your favorite games to play?

My Top 5: Favorite Webtoons

Webtoons hold a special place in my heart as they are stories and comics written and drawn by talented storytellers and artists that are completely free to read. There are Webtoons that I automatically shoot to read with joy the second I see them updated and these 5 are the main ones.

In no particular Order:

I Love Yoo

This story is so sad yet so wonderful and engaging I can’t help but feel excited when it updates. It has made me cry and made me smile and I know who I ship although I am highly uncertain that it will ever come to pass.

Oh! Holy

This story is comedic, adorable, and so pure! Featuring a toilet reaper and a couple with feelings that go beyond death (truly they refuse to die (though their souls are often not in their bodies)) Oh! Holy truly makes me smile!

Let’s Play

This is my dream comic. Featuring a Youtubers that is much like my favorite Markimoo and a game designer who had always been his fan. It’s a comedic, adorable, yet at times serious series. I can’t wait to see where it goes!

My Dear Cold-Blooded King

A fantasy that makes my heart sing I honestly would be happy with any of the ships sailing in this story! It’s art is GORGEOUS and the men just as gorgeous. I don’t know. I’m here for it for many reasons.

Egginoid

My dear sweet Eggy fills me with such joy. There is no one I ship more then these two sweet cinnamon rolls. It’s dramatic yet funny and joyful and sweet and just SO GORGEOUS! I’m in love with this webtoon!

Thanks for reading! Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below! Do you read Webtoons? If so which is your favorite?

-Till next time!
