Recently, I’ve been watching a lot of the Author livestreams and my lord nothing brings me into the need to write more then that. I finally can say that I’m ready to write again. So I’ve started on a story in the past few weeks on and off, but now I’m going to get into it a bit deeper.

My book is a ya paranormal romance horror and I’m so excited about it! I’m going for some darkness mixed with sweetness and it’s been so much fun to write!

I’m hoping to write 500 hundred words per day on it till it’s done starting tomorrow. It’s not too crazy of a goal and I’m pretty sure if I write for 30 minutes to an hour a day I can get 500 a day written pretty easily.

In a few months I should have it done and you guys will be reading a very different kind of post and a celebratory one. It’ll be fun to write about my journey and to go from writing this first draft to edits, to querying, and one day with this book or another being published. It’s a journey that I’m happy to be starting now and I can’t wait!

    1. Awww thanks so much!!! Definitely will keep updating on this! I’m very excited to be writing again and this feedback before I really get into it is amazing! I might get into writing some tonight cause I’m feeling really good about it 😃 Also, I’m looking for an accountability partner for encouragement and such if your writing anything at the moment maybe we could keep being each other’s cheerleaders and motivate each other write. It could be fun!

        1. We could email each other or message each other on Twitter or Instagram about our projects and decide on a goal for each day.. mine is 500 words a day and remind each other to get to writing on the days we need that and celebrate the days that the words are flowing freely

          1. Why don’t we just set up a writing club on our blogs?
Or maybe something that anyone can come to and ask me or you for help? Or we can set up a private blog if you like.
I’m planning on setting up an Instagram for Penable soon, so I’ll let you know when that’s done.

          2. That could be cool! I can do a weekly blog post on my end about it and that could be fun! Could write about what I wrote that week and encourage other writers to join in with their own posts! That sounds great 👍🏻

          3. Write a post introducing the club and saying we’re open to any authors out there and that we encourage others to do a post once a week or every other week discussing what they wrote that week and what their goal was and if they reached it or not. And they can link back to us so we can comment on their posts to give encouragement or advice if they have any questions.

  2. How exciting! I’m so happy for you. Let me know if you need anything – I’m happy to help at any time. I’m currently editing my first book – I’m hoping to get the second draft to my two readers by the end of June! Happy writing!

  3. Thank you for sharing! I followed and will continue to check it out. I am doing the blog to book thing right now as well. I wish I did 500 wpd, but even at my snail pace – I have packed away 24000 words. So I KNOW THAT EXCITEMENT! I look forward to seeing more of it!!!

  4. All the best! Will watch out this space then 🙂 I remember Dan Brown saying in his masterclass – “protect the process”.. good luck with the process of writing and putting everything together!

    1. Been taking a break from it in light of current events and will get back to it soon. Right now it’s still at 3,000 words, but as much as it’s marinated in my mind when I get back to it I should be able to go for it everyday with ease.

      1. That’s understandable, but sometimes it is good to take a break and then you can look at it with fresh eyes or mull over ideas. Three thousand words is still good, as they say something is better than nothing 🙂 But wishing good luck with it. Ellen

          1. That’s great that you love your writing, it can be hard work so when you have the passion it can really push you (at least that is what I found) but it is a super exciting process so I hope you enjoy it 🙂

  5. That’s wonderful! Sounds like a fun and interesting read! I used the time I was furloughed from work to finally finish a book I had been working on for years and also started and finished another. It’s wonderful once you have the time, motivation, and story down, to get the words out of your head and onto the page.
    Good luck!

  6. Oh, hey!! I also recently began writing my own novels. We are probably crazy for pursing this path, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Best of luck to you, and keep penning those words, Tiana!

  8. Best of luck! Writing is such a difficult and introspective thing, but…holding your own book in your hands for the first time makes it all worth it. Just keep chipping away, a little bit at a time, and surround yourself with people who will give you good and honest feedback!

  9. You seem really good at blogging I started in March 2020. What are some tips you would give to those who need help? How do you get 3,848 followers? How do you get a lot of comments and likes? Also please check out my blog I’m desperate I only have twenty-five followers and not even fifty likes in total let alone 10 or less views a day. I have practically no feedback no matter how much I plead the readers. Help me please!!!

    1. Ok so I started out from nothing like you and I just posted regularly and the right people who enjoyed my work followed me over time. There’s no need to feel desperation everyone starts from scratch. I used to get only 5 likes or less on posts when I first started and I just kept doing my blog posts cause I’m passionate about it. So my advice is not to worry about the numbers they come on their own. Also I’d recommend not pleading for readers it’s off putting to a majority of people. They’ll come on their own without being asked.
